MDTA Cup – Focus on Lincoln-Douglas

Only one more tournament left for the books and it appears we have everything cleared up.  In the individual race, Elliot Polsky of STA has a three point lead over Sam Anderson of Lakeville North.  In the school race, STA has a three point lead over Lakeville North.

MDTA Cup – Focus on Policy Debate

With only the section tournament remaining we are close to declaring out 2012-2013 Policy MDTA Cup Champions.  In terms of a team event we see that Minneapolis South looks set to repeat as Policy Team champions.  Looking at the individual race things are much tighter.  Jacob Boucher of Minneapolis South has a one point lead over Alexa Groenke of Jefferson.

MDTA Public Forum State Tournament

Registration is open for the 2012 MDTA Public Forum State Tournament to be held at Blaine High School on January 6th and 7th.  Registration can be done by e-mailing rbrynteson -at- brynteson.info.  Because of how the holidays hit, we will leave registration open until January 4th, 2012.  At registration, please have all judges listed so an accurate strike list can be created.

Friday

  • 3:30 – 3:45 – Registration
  • 4:00 PM – 1
  • 5:00 PM – 2
  • Dinner
  • 6:30 PM – 3
  • 7:30 PM – 4

Saturday

  • 9:00 AM – 5
  • 10:15 AM – 6
  • Lunch
  • Noon – Quarters
  • 1:00 PM – Semis
  • 2:30 – Finals
  • 3:30 – Awards

A judges/coaches lounge with snacks and food will be available throughout the tournament.  Snacks (candy, chips, granola bars, and fruit) beverages (soda and water) will be available to students during the tournament.  Food is through pre-order only.  Pizza (pepperoni, cheese, annd/or sausage) is $6 and can be ordered for Friday.  6″ subs (veggie, ham, and/or turkey) are $3 and can be ordered for Saturday.  ALL FOOD ORDERS NEED TO BE SENT TO ROSS EICHELE (ross.eichele@anoka.k12.mn.us) BY 5:00 ON WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 4TH.  Students are also welcome to bring their own food or order out if they wish.
